A Wirral Photographers day out was long overdue, finding synchronicity of diaries an near imposibility it came to pass that three of us set off heading north. A day and evening shoot beckoned as we visited Fleetwood, Cleveleys and Blackpool. This is my take on our 1 stopping point - Fleetwood.

#Fleetwood, on the north #Lancashire coast, does not, perhaps have the charm it once had, when #Peter #Hesketh-Fleetwood conceived an ambitious plan to convert the town into an important #seaport and railway spur. It nearly made it but his plan was never quite the success he had hoped for.

Today the fishing fleet is still doing business, though the towns most significant employer is #Lofthouse of Fleetwood - of #Fisherman’s #Friend fame.

There is however still much for the photographer to get their teeth into, with two curious inland #Lighthouses, the charming ferry across the River Wyre to #Knott #End, the remnants of the Scottish and Isle of Man Ferry landing stages and the dominant figure of the #The #North #Euston #Hotel, which we discovered, does a fine americano.

Our morning there started with a most excellent bacon barm at the #Beachside Cafe right on the promenade and finished as we stood beneath the imposing #Rossall #Point Observation Tower there was also much to appreciate in between.
Stay in touch for more from our day up t’north…..

Excellent compositions, and love the monochrome feel
