Barry Quatermass

A lifetime in construction, integrated with and surrounded by Designers, Planners, Surveyors - everything was linear, little could be said to be ‘artistic’. Solutions had to be Engineered, deadlines were sacrosanct and where, over the years, Artisanship was seen as a threat to time and cost and was thus designed out.

This was the way of things, I gave it no thought….Until I picked up my camera.

The images on this site represent much of the pleasure I get from an art form that allows me to be expressive, to be creative in a way nothing else does. 

An expression all the more joyous because of its juxtaposition with my past working life.
