Anthony Clarke
Anthony’s interest in photography developed early in senior school when one of his uncle’s encouraged him to pursue it as a hobby by giving him an enlarger. He built a home darkroom. Watching the magic as an image appeared in a developing tray was unforgettable.
Now, his photography is all digital. It covers all the traditional subjects as a result of participating in club competitions. People pictures are a particular favourite however, having spent over 40 years as a structural engineer working both with modern and heritage buildings, he enjoys photographing architectural subjects. It’s not the straight on view of an elevation but exploring axonometric and wide angle views, particularly under different lighting conditions. Patterns can exist in all photography subjects but no more so than in structures. It’s just a question of looking carefully at a subject before shooting and then exploring the options further during post processing.
