Rob Devenish

Rob has had a camera in his hand for most of his adult life, starting with the purchase of a Praktica Super TL with a 50 mm lens in the early seventies. In that time as he has enthusiastically enjoyed working in the darkroom, has had a passion for most of the photographic genres and applied his skills around the globe.

Today he will happily turn his hand to any subject, however he does finds himself drawn to diverse topics including travel photography, landscapes, nature & sports photography.

His photography is strongly influenced by his lifelong appreciation of the work of past masters, Bill Brandt, Elliott Erwitt & Franco Fontana to name but a few and that in the magazines Time Life, Picture Post & National Geographic. More recently he has enjoyed exploring the field of astrophotography & has an admiration for the work of Alyn Wallace.

All of this ensures, no matter which genre Rob is working within, his own personal style, is invariably stamped on the resulting work and hopes that will continue to evolve well into the future.

He has selected the images here which sum up his approach to the topic of nature & wildlife photography.
