Well it was another hectic year at the annual #Societies #Convention in #London, however things seemed a little different this year!

Maybe, it was the fact that the ‘old guard’ is now making way for the ‘new’. #Trends are changing and I’m not sure if my brand of #photography ‘fits in’! Since I retired from #professional #photography, my focus has changed to an #art focussed delivery (which is why I took up the camera in the first place, 45 years ago).
Many of the talks and lectures were #business #orientated, which is of no interest to me. The #trade show also seemed to have slimmed down a bit from previous years. I think the slide started after the UK left the EU (being an international organisation, not the ideal situation). Then we were hit by Covid which buggered everyone up for a further two years. The industry has never really recovered!

Having said all that, I did enjoy my #weekend and gave my scheduled #talk on #Infrared #Photography to a small but eager audience. The weekend was rounded off with the usual #Awards and #Gala ceremony which as usual, became the highlight of my weekend. Catching up with the few #friends I still knew at the event was a joy and of course got to 'dress up' in the DJ that was dusted off from the back of the wardrobe.
