A brief report by Barry Quatermass.

The #Wirral #Photographers Group, decided on our weekly #Zoom Call that a #Manchester trip should be on our schedule, and so it was on Wednesday 6th that 4 of us that could make that day and agreed to depart on the 9.51 from #Lime #St. By the time the train pulled away from the platform (due to hold-ups on the Wirral line), we were down to three.
Rob, Anthony and myself set off as planned with Dave to join us later.....

We had a loose itinerary and were happy to go with the flow once at #Piccadilly, however this changed significantly on the run in to #Oxford #Rd Station. (the one before Piccadilly). It was a gloriously pleasant day and from our carriage we could see incredible reflections on the #Rochdale #Canal in turn surrounded by plenty of old, #graffiti covered walls - As soon as we landed, that’s where we headed.
By the time we got to #Lock 92 we were back up to four (thanks to Dave catching a later train).

There were photos to be had at every turn - but each came with its own challenges, good angles were not instantly available due to narrow toe paths and tall building casting dark shadows.

Our return train wasn’t until 8.00pm but there was so much to have a go at we ended up having to scurry through the station to catch it.
One particular aspect of the day gave us all a particular pleasure - The #people we met. Everyone we asked was more than happy to be photographed and others were really interested in what we were hoping to see and photograph. Thank you #Manchester we hope to get back very soon.
